Defining Synthesized Dance and Integrated Dance

With the advent of fusion dance, an entire new spectrum of dance styles of forms emerged. While many have tried to place these new forms under the label “fusion dance”, it has to be remembered that fusion dance has a defined parameter: “a composite of two or more recognizably related dances, being performed to music not necessarily native to any of the dances being fused; fusing a dance form from one genre with a dance form from another related genre without losing the important characteristics or elements of the inspirational originating dances”.
